If you’re looking for a community to call home, a place to learn about living Islam, or just something interesting to just check out on a Sunday, we’d be happy to see you.
Tarjuma is a Muslim community that gathers most Sundays in the year at the Boyle Street Community League (9538 103A Ave) at 11:30am.
The Gathering is an opportunity to share in fellowship and learn about growing in our connection to God.
The Gathering lasts about sixty minutes with the program beginning at 11:30am. There is no dress code and we typically teach in series with content rooted in Islamic tradition that we hope is meaningful and comprehensible to both regulars and newcomers. After the program has concluded, coffee and snacks are served in the lobby.
When kids are in the mix, it can be difficult to get anywhere on a weekend, and we certainly know the Gathering is no exception. That said, we believe our children hold a special place in the Tarjuma community, and we do our best to make it worth the effort to bring them out.
The volunteers at Tarjuma Kids consider it an honor to serve the children of our community, in a space that fosters love of God and the Prophet, peace be upon him.
Both Tarjuma Kids and the main program begin at 11:30am, so it’s best to come a little early, especially if you have children to check-in. If you’re not able to make it at 11:30am, you’re still more than welcome to join the Gathering after it’s begun – the program concludes at 12:30pm.
There is public parking at both the front and back of the Boyle Street Community League. In addition, Tarjuma has booked the entire Impark lot across the street from the community league’s front entrance. At every Gathering, parking guides will be happy to guide you to a suitable parking spot.
If it’s your first time, greeters at the doors will be happy to show you where to go. If you’d like someone to meet you and show you around before the program begins, email firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will get back to you within 48 hours.
